My small little space on the web for people to enjoy my skins. Nice way for "skinners" to interact, and hopefully leave some comments.

So, I have to vent because this is about as frustrated as one can get. Two days ago, I had put up a post about browswer within a browser...because my WCbrowser was not working. Yet, again today the browser is not working on many levels. I'm posting some screen shots of what is going on, because like I said, it's more than ONE thing. I am using the latest version of wcbrowser--I have uninstalled it through sdc and re-installed it to no help.

FYI--my subscription is up to date

If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it. It's just frustrating when one day it works great and the next it doesn't.My skins are dated back to 2005, it won't update it..

Ok, here's a dumb question for you folks. I use WC browswer...even pay for it. My silly little question is why all of a sudden when I go to the threads it brings me to the web page broswer on the web?? I liked the browswer before when all I had to do was click disscusion and I was right where I wanted to be. I could set it so it would refresh after so many minutes...can't do that anymore.. Needless to say, I will most likley not be re-newing my subscription to WC browser.

Anyone know why this is like this now??

Lawsuit--Think they will win?

Hey All,

Thought I’d post a thread about "funniest or oddest" lawsuit claims. We’ve all heard at one time or another, how far someone would go to earn an extra buck or two. So, here’s your chance to post them up, so we can all have a good laugh.

Here’s your first

Apple Sued over iPod Hearing Loss
An iPod owner who says he suffered hearing loss as a result of the device filed a lawsuit against Apple in federal court earlier this week, and is seeking class action status. However, experts say the effort has little chance of success (who seems to think he’ll actually win?)
According to the suit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court in San Jose, iPods are "inherently defective in design and are not sufficiently adorned with adequate warnings regarding the likelihood of hearing loss." It asks the court to order Apple to pay compensation and make upgrades to the device to make it safer. Star Trek will celebrate its 40th anniversary this Sept. What is in store you asked? Well, I only have a tid-bit of information for you. As more news comes out I will try to keep you updated.

Yesterday an exclusive licensing deal was announced with CBS Corp.’s CBS Communications Group, Bethesda Softworks LLC will publish Trek games for consoles, handheld systems and personal computers. The terms of this deal were not disclosed.

Rockville, Md.-based Bethesda's first title will be "Star Trek: Legacy," where gamers can orchestrate space battles as a Starfleet admiral. A second game for handheld systems will let players control either Federation or Klingon forces. Both are scheduled for release in September to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the franchise that introduced to us pointy-eared Vulcans and photon torpedoes.

Also, if you jump into your shuttle and visit http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/gaming/online/article/6632.html you will find that Star Trek Online is coming aboard the world of internet gaming as well. As of July 2005 Perpetual Entertainment (based out of San Francisco created by MMO and networked game veterans) is in pre-production of Star Trek Online. The Beta for this game is due out in 2006. Sounds like more plans for their 40th anniversary are in store.

The setting for STO is set at some time following the latest movie "Star Trek Nemesis." Missions will be included from other storylines and characters from Star Trek. STO is a PC platform game, which will be available internationally with releases in a variety of languages. STO will deliver the essential experiences associated with Star Trek: shipboard & star base life, away missions, holodeck, and starship encounters. Players will have the opportunity to engage in exploration, combat, problem solving, and diplomacy in addition to character development and social activities. The player point of view in all modes of play will be predominantly 3rd person. At launch all players will be part of Starfleet. Additional factions will be made available via expansions.

The real-time combat system is planned to take advantage of many of the skills and abilities seen in Star Trek: using heavy weapons, energy shields, pattern enhancers, and more. Players can form away-teams with any mix of defensive, offensive, and support characters. Players will have the opportunity to join with other players on the bridge of a starship to engage in large-scale space combat with NPC enemy controlled vessels. PvP will not be a primary means of advancement at game launch, but the holodeck will provide many opportunities for players to fight each other in ships and on the ground in a competitive holographic environment. Also, STO will use the Holodeck to offer imaginative and historical experiences for players, including player vs. player competitions.

Version 8.1 of the Firefox based Netscape Browser was made available Wednesday, bolstering the software's spyware protection and adding a built-in RSS reader that displays news feeds directly in the browser. Netscape touts improved speed and security, while offering the ability to use IE's engine for compatibility.

Latest Changes:

Built-in spyware protection (automatically scans all downloads and blocks spyware/adware -- try whenu.com to check -- also full computer scan for 28K types)
Built-in RSS reader -- read RSS feeds in browser rather than separate reader needed
Multiple profiles so different family members/users can have different settings/passwords/bookmarks etc
New security center with all security settings highlighted

Netscape Browser includes two separate layout engines, so you can choose to view a web site like Netscape Browser or like Internet Explorer. Tabbed browsing is included, along with advanced privacy features. You can also set Netscape Browser to block popups, cookies, images, java, and other behaviors that you would rather not allow. Also, you can easily over-ride and save custom settings for individual web-sites.
The spyware protection Netscape 8.1 automatically scans all downloads and blocks potential malware. A new security center has also been added to highlight the browser's safety features. AOL has additionally enabled support for multiple profiles in version 8.1, which will allow different family members or users to have separate settings, passwords and bookmarks.
